Description

Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
Here we have an outstanding example of a 11 inch tall Muncie pitcher done in a beautiful green peachskin glossy glaze. We believe this to be a lemonade pitcher as it has a fairly narrow spout. Wonderful glaze design adds depth to this pitcher. Really a unique piece that anyone would be proud to call their own. The decorator did an exceptional job with this glaze as the colors blend so well together. No harsh lines or color breaks.
Exceptional pitcher in that it has no cracks, no scratches to glaze with little to no crazing. Very minor chip to rim about 1/2 cm. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any repairs or modification. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic and appropriately marked with decorator number I. Authentic Muncie Pottery.
