Muncie Pottery 1920's Matt Green Over Rose Pear Vase #479-7
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This 7 inch tall Muncie vase is beautifully glazed in a matt green over rose. This vase is a wonderful example of an arts and crafts style. Many of the Muncie vases have been given nicknames by collectors over the years but this one has never been given one until now - the Pear vase! Great arts and crafts glaze and style to add to any collection.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, no repairs and free from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic Muncie Pottery and appropriately marked. All pictures are original and un-edited.
Height: 7", Base: 2" , Rim: 1 3/4" ID2461g
